Auctions in Barrie, Ontario

Barrie sits on Kempenfelt Bay at the western end of Lake Simcoe and is the largest city in Simcoe County. Growth along the Highway 400 corridor means plenty of downsizing and moving households, which feeds estate and contents sales. Auctions common here include estate and contents sales, online timed auctions, and farm and equipment sales in the surrounding townships, and buyers often also follow sales in Innisfil, Orillia, Angus and Springwater.

Our directory currently lists 6 auctioneers based in Barrie, offering online, antique, collectibles and estate sales. Barrie's position on Highway 400 makes it a convenient stop for buyers coming up from the GTA as well as cottagers heading north, so preview days can be busy. Many sales here are online timed auctions with a short pickup window at a local warehouse or the home itself, so plan a vehicle large enough for furniture before you bid. Winter weather on the 400 can be unpredictable, so check pickup dates against the forecast.

For online sales in Barrie, read the pickup window before you bid; many auctions close in the evening and expect collection within a few days at a set address. Antique buyers in Barrie should compare past results for similar pieces and allow for packing materials when collecting fragile items.
